The activities of program are also oriented to encourage local government to recognize and protect so as promote the production of the groups. This program is conducted in District of Sambas to contribute to the immediate need toward the preservation of hand woven as a well-known traditional product identity of the community. The program supports the assistance of woman groups to product the hand-woven based on local resources proceeded environmentally friendly and ensure the economic added value for the market demand. Thus, as a traditional product, hand-woven should be preserved as local product inherited to next generation. | The activities have been conducted in District of Sambas as original area producing the well-known hand-woven in West Kalimantan Province. The intended outcomes of the assistance are: 1. To increase the added value of hand-woven as the traditional product of the community. 2. The program designed has been focused to assist potential local government and village government to ensure the operationalization of food sovereignty committing to local farmer family protection. The program will also encourage community group of farmers to practice sustainable agriculture practice as a model from village level. The knowledge and process of program implementation will be also organized as material for a wider public campaign for community based agricultural development program involving CSOs networking. | Generally the project is conducted in West Kalimantan, especially in 12 villages within 4 of 12 districts in the province: district of Sambas, Kubu Raya, Kayong Utara and Sintang. 1. This project has also been designed to contribute to the immediate need toward green house emission reduction. The project is proposed by a consortium of local NGOs in West Kalimantan focusing on women empowerment, community-based alternative economic development and women-based journalist network. The Consortium of Jaringan Perempuan untuk Keberlanjutan Kehidupan Kalimantan Barat (Women’s Network for Sustainable Livelihood West Kalimantan), is consist of Gemawan (as the lead consortium), PPSW, Dian Tama, Jurnalis Perempuan Khatulistiwa (JPK) and Simpai Kapuas (a local NGO in Sintang District). In brief, the project is designed to integrate women-based empowerment, sustainable agriculture development, and other potential economic activities supports. | The proposed project is conducted within two district of Kapuas Hulu and Sintang covering 10 potential villages. Main activities of the project are: 1) women’s group empowerment and capacity building, 2) sustainable agriculture development supports: technical supports to increase land use productivity, 3) advocacy and product marketing supports: participatory mapping, supporting product marketing, and 4) documentation and campaign: to promote best practices. | Follow up: in the progress of program implementation. The project will also deliver a model of community based village spatial, as a strategy to enhance community access to natural resources management at village level, especially the marginalized groups. The process of village spatial planning will be supported by the use of “drone” technology. The process, the best practice and the result will be formulated as a model of community based village spatial planning into local framework regulation of regency and to be introduced to public. The project is also designed to follow up the previous program of strengthening community based organizations at district level. Gemawan will also empower and strengthen the existing organization to promote justice and sustainability in village development process. | Generally the project is conducted in West Kalimantan, especially in 30 villages within 4 regencies of 12 regencies in the province, namely: district of Sambas, Kubu Raya, Kayong Utara and Sintang. 1.
