The module and research results of the Young Women’s Leadership Program in Climate Change Mitigation in West Kalimantan have been developed as part of a systematic effort to strengthen the role of young women in responding to the challenges of the climate crisis at the local level. This program is grounded in the recognition that young women are not only an affected group but also possess the knowledge, experience, and leadership potential essential for driving more inclusive and sustainable mitigation practices.
The development of this module is based on the findings of field research conducted participatorily across various partner communities. The research explored existing conditions, the roles and involvement of young women, the challenges they face, and opportunities that can be developed within the context of climate change mitigation. These research findings were then translated into contextual, applicable, and relevant learning materials tailored to the participants’ needs, ensuring that the module functions not only as a training guide but also as a capacity-building tool that can be used sustainably.
Through the integration of research and learning modules, this document aims to bridge knowledge and practice in the field. Furthermore, it serves as a space for reflection on the collective learning process involving various stakeholders, including young women, village governments, and other relevant parties. Thus, this module and research results not only document the program’s processes and achievements but also contribute to fostering stronger, more adaptive, and empowered young women’s leadership in climate change mitigation efforts in West Kalimantan.
