Gemawan Holds Business Planning and Cash Management Training for Women in Punggur Besar Village

KUBU RAYA REGENCY – Women’s active participation plays an essential role in strengthening household economies in rural communities. Women entrepreneurs have long contributed to local economic development by utilizing and selling products derived from natural resources, both as raw commodities and processed goods.

To help women make better use of local natural resources and improve their economic opportunities, Gemawan organized a Small Business Planning and Cash Bookkeeping Training for women in Punggur Besar Village on October 30, 2026.

The full-day training brought together women running small and medium-sized businesses, as well as women farmers involved in selling agricultural products in Punggur Besar Village, Sungai Kakap District, Kubu Raya Regency.

Maulisa, Head of Gemawan’s Creative Economy Division, facilitated the training. She explained that the program aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding and practical skills in managing business finances, particularly in distinguishing between income and expenses.

“Ladies, when running a business, it is very important to separate personal money from business capital. When financial records are mixed together, it often becomes difficult to track business performance and measure financial progress, making it harder for the business to grow,” Maulisa explained during the session.

Maulisa also emphasized the importance of drawing on local knowledge and resources when developing a business model. According to her, the resources and opportunities available within the surrounding community often provide the most practical and cost-effective foundation for starting a business.

Jaynun, one of the training participants, welcomed the initiative. She said the training materials were practical and directly addressed challenges that village entrepreneurs frequently encounter when recording their daily business transactions.

Another participant, Ani, also expressed her appreciation for the program. She shared that the training had provided valuable new insights into managing business finances more systematically.

“Through this training, we gained additional knowledge about allocating capital, calculating profits, monitoring expenses, and developing sales strategies. This knowledge has really broadened our understanding and will help us manage our businesses with clearer direction,” Ani said.

The training highlighted the importance of basic financial literacy in helping women entrepreneurs make informed business decisions, manage their resources more effectively, and identify opportunities for growth.

Through its ongoing mentoring and capacity-building initiatives, Gemawan hopes that women entrepreneurs and women farmers in Punggur Besar Village will become increasingly financially independent, develop stronger business management skills, and make the most of local resources to improve the well-being of their families and communities.
